Today we are looking at a week left in South Asia. This week is going to be very busy as we pack and make preparations to move to another temporary assignment in Bangkok, Thailand.
- Tickets are purchased
- We need to arrange Thai visas
- We need to ship most of our trunks by air-freight
- We will fly out at the end of next week.
Once we heard all doors had been closed to South Asia, we did not desire another temporary assignment - we really wanted to move on to our next permanent assignment. However, after paperwork was filed and we began the search through the jobs presented to us as possible next options, it became apparent that the process was going to take longer than the month we were going to have.
Our wise and innovative leadership (We really appreciate keeping us on the field) found a way to give us a little extra time to pray through our options and make a smooth transition to a new assignment.
We have been looking at life in South Asia for so long - it is hard to imagine that now that we have arrived, our time here is concluding. The needs are so great - there is so much left to do. However, we have been blessed to have seen some of the first fruit of our BGR work. This past Saturday a brand new church met for the first time in one of our 'impact villages'.. with two established believers and four other new believers from that village. A brand new church worshiping together - it is such a blessing to think we were even a small part of this work becoming established.
We are trying to ensure we have in some way multiplied ourselves while we are here - and so we are trying to take time this last week to spend time and train others that will continue the work (See the photo below for one of these trainings). Please pray for these training sessions and meetings and for time management as we finish up with a very busy week in Nepal!
