Learning Bndng

We have been in our new city for almost a month now.  We have grown accustomed to many of the local roads and where to find most of the necessities for daily living.  There are occasionally things we can't find (or that may just not be available here!)

Our oldest is enjoying her time at school, and our youngest is beginning to enjoy the time she spends with our house helper.  The adults of the house have also started our school...and we can now converse in the most basic of Bahasa Indonesia.

We can introduce ourselves, where we live, and our children... and ask the same of those around us.  We then politely excuse ourselves (permissi dulu!)  and get out of there!  We are slowly beginning to learn more and more language... and learn some of the intricacies of language here...  L is even getting some language in her school.. and often knows words mommy and daddy don't know yet.

All in all, I believe we can all honestly say that we are enjoying our first few weeks here.

We like Indonesia.

Our girls like Indonesia. All of these things are WONDERFUL news, because we sort of committed to live here - sight unseen!) But all of what we have seen and experienced so far.. we have enjoyed.

We have had good introductory conversations with people... we have been able to be a small bit of a light to some of the people around us... and we look forward to continuing to transition into life in South East Asia.
