Much of the holiday traditions here are adopted from what they see of western culture... but, bless their hearts, often the real meaning of things passes by people.
It is not uncommon for people not to know the words on their shirts or what they mean. And so it comes at no surprise that a good number of the available "Christmas Cards" all say "Feliz navidad". I figured it made sense, probably they all just came in a box together. A random assortment of Christmas Cards.
Then I saw these shirts (his/her) the other day. "Ho Ho Hola." This really seems like it must have been a mis-order... there is no "Hola" in Bahasa... these shirts were obviously meant for a South American country?
Who knows. Just another crazy day when people here have all sorts of words on their shirts!
