This is a picture Megan took of Lorelei. She is seated on the landing between our second and third floors, looking out at the new world she had found herself in. In many ways, we kind of feel like this... We feel like we are getting small glimpses of a brand new world. Every day there is something new: a new sight, a new smell, a new adventure... And even with the sensory overload that is everything we see, the fact is that we are only seeing a small glimpse of what is around us.
The thing is - our hearts break for the people who live here and are spiritually seeing the world in this way... they get bits and pieces of truth but they never know the whole thing... That is why we are here - in the hopes of one day being able to explain to them the vastness of the grace and love of God... These mountains around us, the air in our lungs - all of this is only a glimpse of the good gifts God has for us... The ultimate gift of Jesus Christ... THAT is a beautiful sight.
