Merry Christ-Giving

There are some amazing things about living overseas.  We have experiences on a  regular basis that I never thought I would have.  But these privileges also comes with some rather harsh realities.

We are so far away from our families.  We stay busy and this is hard to focus on when there is so much to do, but around holidays and other times, we really have an opportunity to slow down and rest and... miss our families, our traditions, our 'normal'.

We have been blessed to have some of our family with us these past few weeks and we celebrated Birthdays (for ALL our girls all in one fail-swoop)... we celebrated a fall festival (also for our other expatriate friends here) and we celebrated Merry Christ-Giving... a mixture of thanksgiving and Christmas all in one day.  We did our best to make up for all the holidays we knew we would be missing in the upcoming weeks.

It was good to spend time with family - but when you gather around with your family this holiday season, remember us out here - and lift up a prayer if you remember!

Blessings
