Psalms 34:8 - Taste and see that the Lord is good...
Here is our youngest trying her first taste of some rice cereal. She has enjoyed gumming a few bananas as well.
This reminded me of myself... sometimes I need to take a 'first taste' all over again.
I remember how good God is. I remember how much His word means to me. I remember those sweet times of fellowship listening and hearing and talking with the Lord... but I also know of those times when things get dry and busy and I realize I need to taste the word of God again.
We have experienced God's blessing through his word... why do we need to be reminded again how good he is? Why do we fight it like a child being introduced to solid foods for the first time?
Further reflection causes me to pause and think of all of those that have yet to trust in the Lord. Is our task in this world not to ask those around us to taste of our Lord? And truly, does that first taste not come through the lives of believers? How much more important is it then, that we continually feast of our Lord so that other's may see Him reflected in us.
This is true for all believers in all cultures around the world. May we be faithful to continually taste of the goodness of our Lord that we may share it with others!
