Because, I mean, why not?
I actually worked with the employee at the store for a while to check on this... There were at least three different 'weights' or sizes of towels on this table. But I guess it would be too confusing to mark the different sizes? So they weighed all the different towels to see how much the price was.
Each different size towels didn't weigh different from the others... you really could have just marked towels of different lengths as different prices... but they chose a different way... In all, I guess it is kind of simpler... and it makes sense... pay more for more material..
The US system of Small, Medium, and Large shirts all costing the same is what really doesn't make complete sense, right? At least XXL usual costs a little more for the excess material?
