Cruel fate.
I like circus peanuts. Occasionally, we'll have a friend send us some over here. yum. It's hard to make them last long, unless I just don't open the bag for a while.
If you don't know... which there are a few people that haven't heard of them... they are an orange-colored banana-flavored hard marshmallow thing. My granddad loved them. So do I.
Here's the cruel part. Every time I walk past these bags in the stores here... I think "CIRCUS PEANUTS" it's just ingrained in my brain... I know they aren't here. They couldn't be. Now, if I found circus peanuts - I would buy the stock out of the stalest circus peanuts there were... But I haven't seen circus peanuts... really, outside of the Southeastern United States... Sad day.
These particular memory-evoking offenders are some sort of extruded fried "light snack" item that I believe has some sort of artificial cheese flavoring. Haven't tried them yet. Who knows.. Maybe they taste like Circus Peanuts? But I doubt it.
