We are Ready for The Boat

Our company has a weekly scripture verse: This week's verse is the following:

Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.  Matthew 14:31-32 ESV

I share this with you so that I may also share the following deep-seated yearning and peace that came over me as I read it this morning. These last few months have been a weird transitional time with no real direction.  We have struggled with staying on track and on schedule, and have said so many 'last goodbyes'.. expecting every week to possibly be our last in the states.

I will admit that this is not the most confusing / scary / tempestuous / etc  storm that our family has ever faced.  The most frustrating thing about this storm that surrounds us now is that the outlook is as dense as pea soup. We are nearing a transition time, though.  We still don't know what (or where) the future holds... but we know that in the next few days we will at least have some finality in our minds regarding the next year.  We will at least know if God has opened the door to India or if we will perhaps try to get in at a later date. We and our supervisors have set a deadline of today to try to get some answers. If we cannot receive them soon - we will seek God's will through other doors that may be more open to us.

All of this update/reminder to say: We are ready to climb in the boat.  We will have more storms in the future, I am sure, but at least as far as this one goes, we are ready for the wind and storm to cease.

My personal Bible reading was in Psalm 62 this morning: "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."

May we all remember this.

We will not be shaken.
